Flower: insignificant.
Uses: shade tree, shelter or as a hedge plant, in certain areas it can be grown indoors. Usually frost tolerant and will tolerate exposed coastal sites. Used in parks and for roundabouts when trimmed high for view.
Soil type: will tolerate a wide range of soils and conditions.

Dimensions: tall palm to 20m over a very long time.
Flower: cream colour sprays.
Flower season: summer.
Uses: will grow from Melbourne through to the tropics, excellent avenue, park, specimen tree and along driveways. Has been used as large containerised specimen in city areas.
Soil type: tolerates a wide range of well-drained soils.

Native: North Queensland and coastal Northern Territory
Dimensions: medium tree generally to 9m in cultivation with a spreading crown.
Flower: yellow flowers covering the crown of the tree.
Flower season: summer.
Fruit: flat seedpods that stay on the tree until next flowering.
Uses: park tree or shade tree.
Soil type: moist fertile well drained soils.

Exotic: from South Africa.
Dimensions: in the wild it can reach 18m, in cultivation often as wide as it is tall.
Flower: orange pink flowers.
Flower season: autumn and winter.
Uses: a striking specimen plant similar to the native pandanus in habit, used as a containerised plant or planted into the ground. The outstanding long green leaves make it a feature.
Soil type: adaptable to most soil types and tolerates drier conditions.
